Description

Dried figs from Spain with pale, matte skin, supple to the touch. The flesh, melting and dotted with tiny seeds that crunch, tastes of honey and ripe fruit. In Morocco the dried fig is called chriha, and it is part of the Achoura basket, along with walnuts and dates.

Serve it with tea, split open with a walnut half or an almond inside, or cut into pieces in a breakfast bowl. In the kitchen, it slips into a sweet and savory tagine or a compote, and it goes very well with cheese.

Questions about spanish dried figs

How much should I get for Achoura?
As a rough guide, 500 g of figs makes a good share of a family's basket, along with the walnuts, almonds and dates.
How are they different from the Turkish figs?
Mostly in how they look: pale, matte skin for the Spanish figs, flattened golden figs for the Turkish ones, which our catalog also lists as having no added sugar.
