Description

Large raisins, amber to brown, plump and soft to the bite. Their size makes them raisins you notice: each one brings a full, round, fruity sweetness with a light tartness. They are listed in our catalog as having no added sugar.

They go generously into the tfaya for couscous, into sweet and savory tagines and into mrouzia (a sweet lamb tagine), and they make a good nibble with tea next to almonds and walnuts. In baking, they go into a loaf cake or cookies after a short soak.

How to enjoy it

  • With tea, next to almonds and walnuts

Questions about unsweetened jumbo raisins

How are they different from golden raisins?
Jumbo raisins are bigger and darker, with a deeper taste; golden raisins are lighter and keep their golden color when cooked. Both are listed with no added sugar.
Do they need soaking?
For a tagine or tfaya, 10 to 15 minutes in warm water plumps them up. For snacking, it is not necessary.
